Waterfall on the River Almond
One of the benefits of modern digital capture is the ability to alter the white balance of the resulting photograph at the click of a button. In the days of film a colour correction filter would have had to be employed to achieve a neutral colour balance, that is to say an image without a colour cast. This month Image of the Month is an exception to a certain extent. I have intentionally created a colour cast by using a preset daylight white balance instead of using the shade setting, which would have rendered the photograph with a neutral white balance instead of the intense blue. From a personal perspective, I like images of flowing water with blue colour casts.
